Shopping bag for Kathleen
Well, it's been a long day, and I have had a productive day in the sewing room! I made three quick and easy shopping bags today. Two khaki bags, one for me one for my mom. This one I made for my sister who is also a sewer (I think that is the right way to phrase it) and a lover of fabric. She and I share a love for retro, colorful patterns. So I had JUST enough of this fabric to make one for her with this fabric. I barely had enough scrap left to make a pocket. I love it! I think this one in the end is my favorite!
Definitely done with these for a while!

Shopping bag for free!
Used a free pattern, hand-me-down fabric from my grandma, and supplies I had at home. So basically I made a free shopping bag!!! Yay!!
Made one for me and one for my mom so far.
Also only takes 15-20 min. to make (depending on how often kids are pestering you)!
The pattern is by Burda Style and is called Charlie shopping bag. You can go to their website and print it for free!

Avas Picnic Basket
Birthday gift for my gorgeous niece. Took an unused basket, used fabric I had to make a blanket and napkins, and added a tea set! Personalized the napkins and tea pot for a special touch and wa-la!! So cute, I think she'll love it!

Julia Childs Boef Bourguinion
Found Julia Child's beof bourguinion on Pinterest, and tried it out. It came out pretty yummy, but I was underwhelmed! It took just under 5 hours to make, but wasn't much better in my mind than a traditional American stew.
My guess is that it could easily be converted into a crock pot recipe, and bypass a lot of fussy, unnecessary steps!
